London#2 Free Tour

Yesterday we went on a free tour, for my mom has been suggested from her friends to go to them because they are really good. So we went and had a great time, so here is what we learnt.

William the conqueror came to London in 1066 and laid down his sword in peace which was a relief to the Londoners, because they thought he was just going to come and slaughter them all. But No he came and offered peace, and freedom to the Londoners only for one small condition. That he was the ruler.
He then made the Tower of London, the reason he did this was the people started to forget who was in power, so he showed what they were messing with. The tower was then used as an army base, then used as a prison. Now it is used as a keeper of the royal jewels.

Tower Brigde was made by Queen Victoria so she would have a mark on the city.

An american wanted to buy the famous London Brigde (He thought that was what the Tower Brigde was called.) So he bought it for a bunch of money it turns out he got a plain stone bridge. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Bridge_(Lake_Havasu_City))

Fish monger was a place a huge market of fishermen. But when the bankers started coming in they complained abput the smell. It then got bought by a big bank and refurbished as a place for receptions.

London Fire happened in 1666 it lasted 3 days
650 000 people became homeless, and only six people died, and that happened from them jumping into the river and drowning.

Christopher Wren was ordered by the king to rebuild London.

The Blitz was when the Nazis came and bombed almost every thing in London.
It was built after the fire and the top is made of pure gold. It represents London after the fire.

This was the one of the first buildings (it's really a nice garden) built after the fire.

These are the colours of London. Red, White, and Black.

This is the tallest building in London second tallest  in Europe, it is called the Shard. It has a seven star hotel and it costs 50 pounds to go to the top.

This is the City Hall. Quite beautiful if you ask me.

Anyways guys thank you for reading and have a great day.
